“Successful people are the ones who are breaking the rules.”
– Seth Godin
Who’s making decisions for your life?
99% of people just do what they’re told — it’s easier that way.
We learn how to “do what we’re told” by our parents but that lesson gets honed in at school and at work.
👉Be here at this time.
👉Turn in your homework on this date.
👉Be a cog in the wheel.
We’re told what to do… and we do it.
Of course, to keep your job or pass a class, you have to comply with these things.
But there’s a danger…
It erodes our ability to think for yourself and make your own decisions.
Decision making is difficult. And if we’re not careful, we all fall into the deep, dark abyss of doing what we’re told to do — of building other people’s dreams.
Not our own.
The fact is — and there’s no easy way to say this — but doing what you’re told day in and day out isn’t going to get you what you want in life.
Sure, it’s a hell of a lot easier. When other people make decisions for you, you don’t have to…
👉Trust your gut.
👉Face your deepest insecurities.
👉Make decisions that might fail.
But is that the type of life you want to live?
Of course not!
I’m not saying to quit your job right now and build your own business (maybe tho…), I’m just saying you need to start working toward something that is your own dream instead of someone else’s.
It can be on the side.
It can even be just a few hours per week.
But you must do something where you make your own decisions.
Don’t settle for mediocrity.
Be the exception, break the rules, and build a life you can be proud of — you only get one shot.
P.S. We’ve got something coming soon that will help you decide WHAT you actually want to work toward. Keep your eyes peeled. 😉
